About The Book
Dad-in-the-trenches and author Scott Gale offers a solution to common, modern-day family mayhem: create a family constitution. After a Mother’s-Day meltdown a couple of years ago, he decided something had to change in his family structure. Chocked full of personal examples from Gale’s own struggles to create harmony and balance in family life, “Your Family Constitution” entertains and educates readers on simple ways to make their families more engaged. Peppered throughout, he offers useful, practical advice and guidance on chores and allowances.
About the Author
When not coaching his boys’ baseball teams, spending time with his family or surf kayaking, Scott is a managing partner with a private land development firm, Bluestone Communities. He has been a guest on O.C. Family Radio and KSBR-FM’s radio program “Collage,” discussing parenting issues. "Your Family Constitution" has been also featured in the "Orange County Register." Scott is an instructor at the University of California in Irvine, where he lives with his wife and boys.
My Take On The Book
Scott identified a few core issues, that are important to any family:
The Family Constitution relies on setting rewards and consequences, as well as has an underlying structure based in understanding, empowerment, and simplicity.
This is a book that I believe can help any family. All families have challenges over time and this book provides a structure and way for families to understand what they can do next to assist in making their lives more fulfilling and fun.If you are looking for a book that provides for both your and your child's needs, this book is definitely a step in the right direction.

- Step 2: Vision. Establish clear and mutual parenting objectives.
- Step 3: Observation. Identify potential issues and behaviors to address in your Family Constitution.
- Step 4: Organization and Prioritization. Finalize a list of primary issues you intend to address in your Family Constitution.
- Step 5: Creating Structure. Produce a detailed framework for manageable family structure.
