Barcode Hero unveils Letters to Santa + chance to win $1,000 Wish List

1 - Start ScreenJust in time for Christmas, Barcode Hero for iPhone and iPod touch has a new social shopping feature that lets children create a wish list of what they want for Christmas and send it with photos of the gifts to Santa and his elves right from your iPhone.

Children build the list by scanning the barcodes of products they want in-store. They love the idea of taking pictures of their selections to make sure Santa gets them the right toy and it keeps them busy while Mom is shopping.

From home, children can search and browse popular gift ideas offered on Barcode Hero and make their selection on the iPhone app itself.

Then children write a letter to Santa, attach the wish list and even use their iPhone to take and include a personal photo of themselves. Parents can help, and share wish lists with “other elves” – like grandparents.

Parents receive a copy of the lists by email, perfect for sharing with friends and family wondering what gifts to buy the child.

Created specially for the season, the Holiday Wish List feature is automatically included in the most recent Barcode Hero update. The easy-to-use feature offers many options:

  • Personalize each wish list with the child’s name and photo
  • The whole family can participate; users can create multiple lists, one for each family member
  • Receive a stylized email confirmation full of holiday cheer!
  • Easily share holiday wish lists built on Barcode Hero with family and friends via email, Facebook and Twitter -- so they can choose from gifts the children have personally selected
“Instead of sitting down in the living room with the children to write a letter to Santa on pencil and paper, Barcode Hero allows parents to make wish lists a modern, family-focused holiday activity, complete with photos,” says Blake Scholl, co-founder, Kima Labs. “We’re sure Santa will appreciate the help!”

Barcode Hero is a free app for the iPhone and iPod touch that can be used all year long to scan any item with a barcode and to share comments about popular products with friends and family. Users can also check out prices for products they are considering or gain insight into products from friends and experts in the Barcode Hero community.
