My Take on the Book

I loved this book the moment I opened it because I love whales. I have had the privilege to be in Hawaii when the whales were there and to be on a sail boat that took me close to these magnificent creatures. You cannot imagine the excitement at seeing these gentle mammals.
Flip has photographs and text to help the reader learn about whales. He give us specific information about their eating, family groups, and how like humans they are in so many ways. He tells us of the long journey they take from Alaska to Hawaii and how they raise their young before they venture back to Alaska's waters.
Some whales actually stay in frigid waters too.
Flip shows up how we humans need to be concerned about whales. They are in our chain of life. If the ocean is a safe place, if ships do not endanger their existence , if hunting is deleted, if their food is not contaminated, then we will save these gracious creatures .
Flip and Linda give you additional information at the end of the book as to how you can help.
Do share this informational book with your family. Enjoy!
