Book Review: There's Something Under The Bed

About the BookEvery neighborhood has a haunted house.  As a parent it is natural to tell a child that “there are no such things as ghosts!” Does that really alleviate their fears?  Does it help children understand paranormal experiences?  How to accept the good ones and protect themselves from the bad ones?

There’s Something Under the Bed! explores the often-complex relationships between children and the paranormal, and focuses special attention on the sometimes-startling realities behind children’s “imaginations.”  Some of the topics covered include:
·         Ghosts.
·         Imaginary Friends.
·         Fairies.
·         Occult games (i.e., Ouija boards).
·         Past lives.

There’s Something Under the Bed! is a guide to understanding children and the paranormal.  Children have a need to figure out the world around them, and this world includes the paranormal.  They are in transition and therefore don’t always notice the presence of the paranormal as paranormal.

Author Ursula Bielski recounts her own paranormal experiences from her childhood. Children are building their consciousness all the time. Although the best of intentions motivate parents, often the aspects of the paranormal that they share are frightening.  Parents need to realize that fostering a consciousness of the paranormal doesn’t have to begin in fear.

“[There’s Something Under the Bed] is a great addition to the discussion of the paranormal and children…. I’d like to thank Ursula Bielski both as a parent and as a paranormal researcher for shedding such credible light on this important paranormal topic” Jeff Belanger, Founder of Ghostvillage.com.

My Take on the Book
When I was a child I was fascinated by the paranormal. I would read all that I could about the strange and odd happenings in the world around me. This book would have been a great addition to the books that I always liked to read as it is full of great current and past stories of the connection between children and the paranormal.

What I liked the most about this book was how easy it was to read and you are drawn in further by the images that are within the book and the knowledge that these events actually happened. It boggles the mind to think of the possibilities out there based on the paranormal experiences that others has and this book just adds to the questions!
If this book sounds like something you would like in your own library you can find it on Amazon!
