Book Review - Benjamin and Bumper to the Rescue

About the Book
Benjamin Middlemouse lives with his mother in a cozy wooden wardrobe in a little boy’s bedroom in a large old house. Mrs. Middlemouse is late coming home one day. Where could she be? Benjamin asks his friend, an elephant named Bumper, to help find her. She isn’t in the bedroom. Or the hallway. Or the kitchen. Finally, in the garden, the two friends find a clue that sends them rushing to the top of a castle tower — where Sir Pouncelot, the cat, has dinner plans that Benjamin and Bumper must put a stop to, fast!

They have garnered many glowing reviews, won an International Reading Association “Children’s Choice” award, and sold more than a million copies. She lives and works on an island north of Seattle, Washington.
A few of Molly’s favorite childhood books: Robert the Rose Horse (by Joan Heilbroner, illustrated by P.D. Eastman), Nobody Listens to Andrew (by Elizabeth Guilfoile, illustrated by Mary Stevens), Winnie-the-Pooh (by A.A. Milne, illustrated by Ernest H. My Take on the Book
Benjamin and Bumper to the Rescue is a visual masterpiece. Your eyes are surrounded with many visual treats. Each interesting photographic feat within the story has so many intricate details that are so wonderful to find and watch.

My girls loved the story as well. As a parent I enjoyed seeing the ideas that were raised in regards to inspiring amounts of kindness and courage. With the fact that I have a 2.5 and 5 year old, both were so intrigued and engrossed in the imagery and plot of the story. They asked me to read this book on several days in a row (which is not typical). They also loved seeing what happened at the end of the story with Sir Pouncealot (you will have to read the story to find out)!

If this book sounds like something you would like in your own library you can find it on Amazon!
